If you want to buy a winery...

If you want to buy a winery...

It's exciting to feel like a winery owner and produce your own wine. Some purchases or investments in wineries made in the past were made from the emotion, guided by the illusion of produce your own wine. But time has shown that it is essential to analyse, from the rationality of a rigorous economic analysis, the expected profitability with a previously defined business plan.

As we can see, buying a winery or a vineyard is a decision that is usually taken from emotion, but it must always be taken from reason.

There are investments in wineries that have returns that are not measured in terms of accounting results from wine sales. For example, there are business groups that have wineries that produce wines, sparkling wines or liquors that are used for trade promotion among the clients of their other group companies. Normally these are wineries that, although their production capacity and equipment is greater, they strive to have high-quality small productions, which they distribute or sell among their clients, as we have said, to promote their corporate group.

We know cases of wineries with hotel accommodation, or manor houses with many rooms, which are used to house the distributors, the winery’s best clients or the clients of the group company. In this case, for a proper assessment, we must also separate in the analysis, the economic returns of each activity and place them properly in the context of business strategy and business plan chosen.

Whatever the case, our mission is to accompany the investor in this unique acquisition process. Therefore, we offer you a team of experts, with extensive market knowledge, who will listen carefully to your priorities and accompany you through the exciting process of becoming the owner of a winery or vineyard in Spain, Chile or Argentina.

If you want to sell your winery...

If you want to sell your winery...

As it happens when buying a winery or starting its construction, enthusiasm and vigour provide the energy for a task that is done with the emotion of being able to enjoy your own wine; the moment of selling the winery does not have to be a painful or sad process.

It is true that the life of companies, like that of people, is not eternal and that sometimes the finitude of people, linked to the lack of family continuity in the business, can be natural reasons for deciding to sell the family winery. When making this decision, especially when it comes to small wineries, it is especially important to take a discreet approach to the market.

On other occasions, the winery has fulfilled its business mission for which it was created and we find ourselves with quality vineyards, with fully-operational facilities, which are no longer useful to the owner company and which require either a complete sale or the entry of an investor.

On other occasions, the facilities need to be renewed, or the sales force or the distribution team needs to be reinforced, because, even if they are operating wineries, with quality wines, with good winemaking techniques, it is possible that, due to market circumstances, or just because of a branding problem, the company is only a few thousand bottles away from reaching the break-even point. In this case it is of vital importance to defend from the very beginning of the commercialisation the real value of the winery so that its owners obtain the fair price through an orderly and rational sale. It is a matter of the buyer really paying the value that the winery has, as long as it brings him that profit. Otherwise, our job is to find another buyer.

The day of the sale of the winery can also be, as we can imagine, a happy moment. All that is required is to treat the transaction in the most appropriate manner, given its circumstances.

Whatever the situation of your winery, our team of experts will be happy to listen to you, analyse the options, advise you and accompany you throughout the process.

Operating wineries are, of course, ongoing businesses, with clients, suppliers and employees. Any rumour that this or that winery may be for sale, without the proper information, can be very negative news that would only worsen the delicate situation in which you may find yourself. For this reason, and for self-imposed reasons of ethics and professional deontology, all our commercial actions follow a rigorous process of confidentiality and compliance with the law.

All our wineries are managed with total confidentiality and absolute discretion.
If you want to sell your winery in Spain, Chile or Argentina, we recommend that you contact us to initiate a conversation so that we can analyse your case.

China, the giant that also copies wine
China, the giant that also copies wine

China is not only acquiring wineries in Bordeaux and Burgundy but is also developing its own wine industry. With the second-largest vineyard area in the world, the country attempts to replicate French models, though its real challenge lies in establishing a unique identity. Regions like Ningxia, Yunnan, and Xinjiang are already producing high-quality wines, with examples such as Ao Yun, supported by LVMH.
